Leonardo da Vinci - Humanist

Leonardo Piero da Vinci  was an Italian painter, sculptor, musician, architect, scientist, mathematician, inventor, engineer, anatomist, writer and geologist. He was born in the village of Tuscany Italy on April 15, 1452. At 15 Leonardo is sent to Florence to work as an apprentice to Andrea De Verrocchio. At 20 years of age, he is accepted into the painters guild in Florence. He paints The Baptism of Christ, Annunciation, Ginevra de' Benci, Benois Madonna, Madonna of the Carnation, The Last Supper, as well as the well known Mona Lisa including many others.
Leonardo da Vinci was known as a man of "both worlds. He mastered both the world of science and art.Leonardo was a great engineer and inventor. People insisted that "He" would be the one to construct buildings or make differences in a town or city. 1466, at the age of fourteen, Leonardo was apprenticed to one of the most successful artists of his day, Andrea di Cione, known as Verrocchio. In 1472, Da Vinci became a member of the Florence Painters' Guild. Between 1483-1487 Leonardo da Vinci sketched designs for a giant crossbow, parachute, scythed chariot, tank, and the amoral vessel plus more. In 1498, Leonardo decorated the walls and ceiling of the Sala delle Asse.

Humanism is "any system or mode of thought or action in which human interests, values, and dignity predominate."Therefore the study of humans in general.  Leonardo Davinci studied the way people looked through art and also the way they acted, or put together inside through science. He was a big impact on humanism in that way.

He showed humanism in his work. Humanism was not a religion but more about the wisdom or knowledge. Leonardo Davinci  focused more on his accomplishments and skills. Other people mostly looked at there status or position in society. The style of his art inspired the people around him. An example is before Davinci and other artists,  most art appeared flat and two dimensional. Leonardo made his art more realistic, detailed, etc.

In conclusion, Leonardo DaVinci changed the opinions or perspectives of the people around him towards the body and scenery. He changed the form of art and ways of teaching.  He was a big influence on humanism and that's how.
